A-Z Guide to your Perfect Wedding: C is for…

CATERING
Other than commenting on how stunning the bride looks the next most talked about and anticipated part of a wedding is usually the food. Depending on the type of venue/location you opt for will determine whether you employ outside caterers or not. Outside caterers present you with the option of being a bit more creative with the food such as a Pig Roast, BBQ or even an Oriental inspired menu. If you’re hosting your wedding breakfast in a hotel (or similar) then you will usually be invited to a menu tasting in the run up to the event. Here you can decide whether you will go down the traditional route of a three-course sit down meal followed by an evening finger buffet or whether you might prefer to go for a hot fork buffet for the main wedding breakfast. Things to consider when selecting your food are the number of people you are catering for, dietary requirements of your guests, the time of year you are getting married… If your wedding is in the heat of the summer a roast dinner probably isn’t the best food choice similarly winter wedding guests could be underwhelmed if presented with a chicken salad. Canapés are a nice touch too as they provide a talking point during the mingling stage as well as filling a hole in your guests tummy whilst waiting for the wedding breakfast which usually isn’t until around 3/4ish.

Don’t forget to decorate your tables too.
