A-Z Guide to your Perfect Wedding: B is for…

BUDGET

Admittedly setting the budget isn’t the most exciting element of the planning process it is however the most important as without knowing what you have to spend you can’t even begin. Sit down together and work out what the most important elements of the day are to you. For most, the ‘must-haves’ are the Dress, the Rings, the Venue, the Guests and the Honeymoon. You then have to decide on all the bits in between that once combined will make your perfect day. When the word ‘wedding’ is mentioned everything seems to double in price so search clever and shop around. Speak to your parents to see how much money, if any, they would be happy to contribute, or perhaps delegate items out to them. For instance would one set of parents be in a position to pay for the photographer and the in laws pay for the flowers. If you’re funding the whole day yourselves then set yourself a realistic time frame to save and set the wedding for a later date. Making items yourself is a great money-saver, for example your invitations or favours – Organza bags work well here.

Other B’s to consider: Bridesmaids – how many will you have? Remember this will impact on your budget. Breakfast – a nutritious brekkie will help settle your stomach. Even if the nerves are getting the better of you it is important to eat something.
