Wedding Favours Don’t Have to be Traditional

Just in case you have been living under a rock and aren’t sure what a wedding favour is, they are simply a small memento for the guests on your special day. They are a great way to say thank you to all that attended and wedding favours can range from small chocolates right through to mini campers bursting with goodies.

Below are some of favourite favour ideas that aren’t the conventional ones but might just suit the theme of your special day a bit better, or be a little more unique.

Cupcakes

Baking has suddenly become very fashionable since the rise of successful cookery television programmes so why not thank you guests by supplying them with a personalised sweet treat? It is now possible to buy cupcake cases, wraps or boxes that really enhance your theme as well as make the table look beautiful. This could also be an alternative to splashing out the huge expense of a wedding cake. Every one loves cupcakes and there are plenty of companies out there who will work with you and your other half to create flavours and toppings that everyone will enjoy!

Retro Candy Bar

Old school sweets appeal to everyone and whether your treat of choice is a gummy fried egg or a fizzy flying saucer, the retro candy bar has it all. You are sent industrial size bags of sweets along with presentation bags and scoops. This means it is up to you if you’d like to create a candy cart table at the reception for people to help themselves, or alternatively prepare the bags before the big day and place them next to the place settings of each person. They are yummy though, so we can’t guarantee your guests wont be digging into their jelly babies whilst waiting for the meal or canapés to be served.

Murano Glass Heart Design Wine Stopper

As a more sophisticated, adult gift why not give a favour that people will still be using in their homes a decade after your special day? Everyone enjoys a glass of wine and on the rare occasion you don’t finish the bottle, a stopper is needed. This is where our beautiful glass heart option comes in. Made from Murano glass, with a handmade, marbled ripple effect through the heart shape topper, this favour is not one that will be discarded when your guests get home.

Make your own!

This may sound daunting but the perfect way to ensure your favour is completely unique is to make your own. If it your first time crafting then keep it simple or if you have friends and family to help, or you feel quite confident then attempt something a little more complex. You could use jewelled letter stickers to make personalised phone cases or notepads for those guests that love their sparkle. Or maybe you could buy some plain photo frames and decorate them in a similar style to your theme, which would allow guests to put a photo from the day in their homes. If you’re going for a shabby chic look why not buy a few milk bottles and jars and fill them with a variety of food treats or even scented petals. Label them for your attendees using some brown parcel tags and string to add to the vintage feel.
