A-Z Guide to your Perfect Wedding: P is for…

PHOTOGRAPHER

Personally we feel that photography is one of the most important elements of a wedding as photos capture the moments for you to treasure forever including bits of your day that you might not have seen. It’s important that you feel comfortable and at ease with your photographer as they will be by your side for a large part of the day including when the bride (and groom if requested) is getting ready. Prices can vary hugely from photographer to photographer as can what is included within the packages so do your research, shop around and meet up with as many as you can before booking asking to see their portfolio so you can get a feel for their style of photography. Many couples opt for two photographers so they can capture different/more shots. This is particularly relevant when the bride is walking down the aisle, as most brides will want shots from behind to capture their dress as well as from the front to photograph the emotion their face.

Other P’s to consider: Place Cards – Not a necessity but they do help with the organisation of the seating arrangement on the tables plus it’s a good way to mingle your guests together so they talk to others on the table and not just their partner. PhotoboothA popular and fun element that you could incorporate into your evening reception. These come with a box full of comical props for guests to dress up in and have their photo taken. They can come in the form of an actual booth that print out the photos there and then for guests (& a copy for the Bride & Groom as a keepsake) to take away with them or some photographers will use a backdrop and take the photos which will then usually be shared via social media the day after the wedding – hours of fun.
