A-Z Guide to your Perfect Wedding: I is for…

INVITATIONS

Most people will send out their invitations at least 3 months ahead of the Wedding date (sometimes sooner if the wedding takes place on a week day). If you’re anxious about getting your invites out, Save the Dates offer a good compromise as they enable you to let guests know the date in plenty of time. The finer details can then be included on your invite and sent out at a later date. Finer details include the venue information, date and time of the wedding along with accommodation details for those who might wish to stay over, dietary requirements/menu choices if you are providing a selection of food and parking information. Some couples set up a Gift List which is a service offered by most large department stores so you will want to include your Gift List reference which will allow your guests to log on to the stores website and purchase a gift for you. It’s also very common these days for couples to request money as a gift, written in the form of a cute poem so as not to appear rude or expectant of a gift. Make sure you include an RSVP date too as a lot of hotels will need to know at least 4 weeks in advance of menu choices.
